NBC Signs Multi-Year Deal to Broadcast Billboard Music Awards, Starting in 2018

NBD and dick clark productions have signed a new multi-year deal to broadcast the Billboard Music Awards, starting in 2018.

Since 1990, the awards show has celebrated artists who have made huge strides on the Billboard charts and released music to substantial commercial success. Finalists are determined based on album and song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social engagement with fans.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Billboard Music Awards and Dick Clark Productions to bring our mutual love of music and live programming together to showcase spectacular performances with the biggest names in music,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group at NBC, in a statement. “The Billboard charts have long been the industry standard of greatness, making this show the #1 destination for music artists.”
