Demi Lovato Supports Transgender Rights During 'Cool for the Summer' Performance at 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Demi Lovato continued her Confident streak at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards with a performance of "Cool for the Summer."

Never afraid to mix things up, Lovato replaced the single's sinuous synths with punchy, soulful horns at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday (May 22). Naturally, Lovato's brassy vocals were killer, as per always.

Aside from the inventive musical switch up, Lovato took a stand against North Carolina's anti-LGBT "bathroom law" by wearing a t-shirt featuring an inclusive bathroom symbol. A replica of the t-shirt will be sold during Lovato’s tour, with the proceeds going to LGBT organizations in North Carolina.
