Earlier in the show, Lambert -- whom host Mickey Guyton noted is the most awarded artist in ACM Awards history -- opened the 56th annual ceremony with Elle King to perform their new song "Drunk (and I Don't Wanna Go Home)." Lambert later joined Chris Stapleton on his tune "Maggie's Song," a tune written in tribute to his family's late pup.
Lambert was nominated for multiple ACM Awards this year, including female artist of the year, single of the year, and song of the year. She lost video of the year to Kane Brown.
Guyton and Keith Urban hosted the ceremony, which returned to Nashville this year. The event was broadcast from multiple iconic locations around the city, including the Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe, and the Grand Ole Opry House.
