Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber Take Over Hollywood Bowl to Perform '10,000 Hours' For 2020 CMA Awards

While the 2020 CMA Awards hosted a bevy of country superstars inside Nashville's Music City Center on Wednesday night (Nov. 11), duo Dan + Shay decided to stay put on the West Coast to perform their Billboard Hot 100 hit "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber

With Dan Smyers on piano, his partner Shay Mooney and Bieber sat on stools to deliver a silky rendition of their 2019 collaboration inside an empty Hollywood Bowl. The piano-laden version was a winner amongst viewers on social media, as many championed for their performance to go on streaming platforms. "Petition for Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber to release that version of 10,000 Hours on Spotify!!!!!!!!," wrote a zealous fan. 

Earlier today, the group announced a new milestone, celebrating "10,000 Hours" crossing 500 million streams on Spotify.

"#10KHOURS has officially hit 500 MILLION streams on @spotify and 1.3 BILLION streams across all platforms. the timing could not be more perfect, because tonight, we perform live with our friend @justinbieber for the first time EVER on the #CMAawards!," they wrote on Twitter. 

Following their performance, Dan + Shay won single of the year for "10,000 Hours." The song also received nominations for musical event of the year and music video of the year. "10,000 Hours" peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.
