U.K. stars Little Mix are pulling double duty at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards, hosting the ceremony on Sunday (Nov. 8) while also performing the effervescent single “Sweet Melody,” from the girl group’s just-released sixth studio album, Confetti.
Without Jesy Nelson -- absent from the EMAs due to illness -- Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock delivered a choreo-heavy rendition of “Sweet Melody” while dancing within a futuristic pyramid. Much like they’ve done through their entire professional run together, Little Mix used the performance to harken back to the pinpoint movement and harmony of classic girl groups of generations past, while also carving out a singular niche for themselves.
