This year’s show will be shot in multiple locations around the world.

Sam Smith, Maluma, Doja Cat, Yungblud and Zara Larsson are the first performers announced to appear on the 2020 MTV EMA (Europe Music Awards), which are set to air globally on MTV on Nov. 8. Little Mix is set to host the show.

Update: On Oct. 29, MTV announced that David Guetta has been added to the line-up. He will perform on a stage built in the pool of the Széchenyi Bath in Hungary. Supermodel Barbara Palvin will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the action in that country.

On Oct. 27, MTV announced that Alicia Keys, Karol G, DaBaby, Jack Harlow and Tate McRae will join the performer lineup. Additionally, Brazilian superstar Anitta, supermodel Winnie Harlow, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and former MTV EMA hosts Bebe Rexha and Rita Ora will make "special appearances." Madison Beer, Why Don’t We and 24kGoldn will kick off the celebration with performances in the “pre-game” show.

Unlike last year’s MTV EMA, which were held at FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre, Seville, Spain, this year’s show will be shot in multiple locations around the world.

As previously announced, Lady Gaga is the top nominee for the 2020 MTV EMA, with seven nods, including best video, best song and best collaboration, all for “Rain On Me,” her megahit collab with Ariana Grande. BTS and Justin Bieber are runners-up, with five nods.

Bruce Gillmer and Richard Godfrey are executive producers of the two-hour MTV EMA. Debbie Phillips and Chloe Mason are producers. Gillmer was also executive producer (along with Jesse Ignjatovic) of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Voting is now open at mtvema.com. It will remain open until Nov. 2 at 11:59 p.m. CET (central European time).

Billboard will update this story as additional performers and presenters are announced.
