Kelsea Ballerini performs for the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards.

Kelsea Ballerini took the stage at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium to perform her single "Hole in the Bottle" during the 2020 ACM Awards Wednesday (Sept. 16).

The singer, who was nominated for female artist of the year, started by sharing her enthusiasm at participating in the ceremony, then explained her song choice. "I picked this song because I don't know about you, but I feel like this year, we can all use a drink!" she exclaimed, hinting at the troubles the country has faced thus far in 2020.

Ballerini -- dressed in a red and black sequined dress with matching black boots -- then launched into an upbeat and energetic acoustic take on the song, which is the third single from her third studio album, Kelsea, which was released in March. "There's a hole in the bottle/ Leakin' all this wine/ It's already empty and it ain't even suppertime," she sang animatedly.

After wrapping up her song, she declared, "Cheers!"

Keith Urban hosted the 55th annual event, which was originally scheduled to be held in Las Vegas in April, but was rescheduled due to the global coronavirus pandemic. This is the first year that the awards have been held in Nashville.

The ACM Awards are produced by dick clark productions, which is owned by MRC Media, the parent company of Billboard.
