Fans probably didn't expect to see the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards with glowing crotches and an alien abduction, but they would have thought wrong.

To close out the show, the Black Eyed Peas took to the stage to perform "Vida Loca" off of their latest album, Translation, with some help from Tyga and a sky-sized projection of Nicky Jam. Immediately, fans were focused on Will.I.Am, Taboo and Apl.De.Ap's pants, that appeared to have light-up zippers as they shook them around the stage.

After finishing out their first song, the group decided to give the audience one final encore with a performance to their 2009 hit "I Gotta Feeling." As an image of an alien spaceship projected over them, Will.I.Am took the opportunity to shout out a few important causes before closing out the show. "Wanna send love to the first responders and the freedom fighters," he said. "Wakanda forever. Black Lives Matter."

The Black Eyed Peas closed out a night of massive performances, including The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, DaBaby, CNCO, BTS and many more.
