Mason Ramsey Dedicates His Grammy Performance to Kobe Bryant: 'Tonight, We Sing for Kobe'

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus brought BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey and more onstage with them at Sunday night's (Jan. 26) Grammy Awards for a star-studded "Old Town Road" performance, but the group shared a special moment before the big show.

In a video Ramsey uploaded to Twitter, the performers standing backstage before the 13-year-old crooner commanded the attention of the room. "Tonight, we sing, we sing for Kobe!" Ramsey proclaimed, met with cheers and "Kobe!" chants. Lil Nas X reaches over for a high-five.

Legandary basketball star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among nine people who died tragically just hours before the award ceremony. The night's host, Alicia Keys, opened the Grammys by paying homage to Bryant, and joined surprise guests Boyz II Men for an impromptu performance of their 1991 version of "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday."
