For the first time in Grammy history, fans can tune in to the red carpet preshow on Twitter. The Grammys announced Wednesday (Jan. 8) that Grammys Live From the Red Carpet, featuring arrival coverage and behind-the-scenes footage from the awards show, will live-stream exclusively on Twitter.

The Recording Academy and CBS -- the Grammys' home network -- partnered with Twitter to bring all of the preshow happenings to the social-media platform. Grammys Live From the Red Carpet will be available via the Recording Academy and CBS Twitter accounts. Fans will be able to submit questions to artists that could be asked on the broadcast, and fan tweets and polls will also be part of the preshow live stream.

Once the Grammys officially begin, Twitter users will be able to tune into the media center, where winners respond to questions from press. And those who are eager to see what it's like to actually be at the Grammys are in luck too: There will be an audience cam that viewers can activate by using the hashtag #TweetCam.

Leading up to the Jan. 26 Grammys, Twitter will host Q&As with nominated artists, including Meek Mill, Maggie Rogers, Luis Fonsi, Offset, and Cage the Elephant.

The Twitter partnership announcement comes just hours after the Grammys revealed its first batch of performers for the 2020 showBillie Eilish and Lizzo will make their Grammy debuts, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will take the stage together for the first time, and Aerosmith -- the 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year -- will perform.

The Grammys will air Sunday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on CBS.
