Green Day Talk 'Hella Mega Tour' & Sing 'She' on the AMAs Red Carpet

Green Day caught up with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on the red carpet at the 2019 American Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 24), chatting about their Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer, and they treated viewers to a short acoustic performance of a track from Dookie.

Asked if there will be any competition between the Hella Mega Tour bands, Billie Joe Armstrong replies, “No, we stopped doing that a long time ago. I think we just want to have a good time. It's gonna be playing a lot of bowling and drinking games. So it's gonna be fun.”

When asked if there are any songs from their back catalogue that they would never consider dusting off to play live again, Tré Cool responds, “Oh no, they're all, we could play about 150 of them like right now.” At that point, the trio pull out a guitar and sing a few lines from their 1995 song “She.”

In the interview, Green Day are also asked what their most memorable Billboard moment has been to date. “I think the first time we ever had a bullet next to our name,” replies Armstrong. “So back in 1994, when you see a bullet by your name, get ready to shoot some guns.”
