Back in May, country veteran Keith Urban released the touching single "We Were," his first sampling of new music since wrapping up promo behind his 2018 album, Graffiti U. On Wednesday night (Nov. 13) at the CMA Awards, Urban delivered a powerful rendition of "We Were" before the Nashville crowd at Bridgestone Arena.
Wearing a leather jacket to complement the one worn by the song's protagonist, Urban performed a stripped-down version of "We Were" featuring little more than his own voice and acoustic guitar. Backdrops showing a morning sunrise and a starry, moonlit sky further complemented the sentimental lyrics about wayward youth.
