Thomas Rhett delivered an impassioned rendition of his latest single, “Remember You Young” at the 2019 CMA Awards Wednesday night (Nov. 13).

Perched atop a stool dressed in a velvet tuxedo, Rhett gave the nostalgic tune his all as a full orchestra played behind him (one even bigger than the group in Dan + Shay’s earlier “Speechless” performance) and lights sparkled in the Bridgestone Arena crowd.

Prior to the show, Rhett walked the red carpet with his family of four — soon to be five, as wife Lauren Akins is pregnant — including his two daughters Willa Gray and Ada James. Though the cameras didn’t show the girls watching their dad perform, he had a visible twinkle in his eye as he sang “Remember You Young,” which he dedicated to his daughters during his Very Hot Summer Tour earlier this year.

The day before the CMA Awards, Rhett shared a new video for “Remember You Young,” which features home videos of his daughters. “Remember You Young” is a track from Rhett’s latest album Center Point Road, which was up for album of the year.
