The country star was joined by Little Big Town, Runaway June, Ashley McBryde and more.

Kelsea Ballerini entered the 2019 CMA Awards as a female vocalist of the year nominee, and on Wednesday night (Nov. 13) the country singer-songwriter demonstrated why, with a nuanced performance of recent solo single "Homecoming Queen" which immediately segued into an all-star performance of Little Big Town's "Girl Crush."

"Homecoming Queen" wonders what the world would be like if we hid behind social media facades less often, and on a bare stage surrounded by fans, Ballerini exhibited a quiet calm while spinning her story. Impressively, Ballerini's transition from the naked emotion of "Homecoming Queen" to the start of "Girl Crush," during which she was joined onstage by Lindsay Ell, was effortless.

The singer-songwriters were soon joined by a rotating cast of stars, with Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Maddie & Tae, Runaway June, and, of course, Little Big Town joining the action. While Ballerini is looking to take home her first CMA trophy, "Girl Crush" won both song of the year and single of the year at the awards ceremony in 2015.
