AMAs Partner With TikTok, Are First Awards Show to Announce Nominees Via App: Watch

TikTok creators Joshua Cureton, Nick Tangorra and Brittany Tomlinson did the honors on Thursday morning (Oct. 24).

The 2019 American Music Awards became the first awards show to announce nominees on TikTok on Thursday morning (Oct. 24) when TikTok creators Joshua Cureton, Nick Tangorra and Brittany Tomlinson announced the nominees for favorite music video, collaboration of the year and favorite social artist.

The custom videos all featured the TikTok stars announcing the nominees in their own unique fashion, with Cureton creating a music video incorporating themes from the videos, Tangorra whipping up an original rap about the best collabs and Tomlinson doing a straight-to-camera monologue about the top social acts.
