J Balvin Discusses His 'Crazy' Performance With Bad Bunny & Reveals His Favorite Missy Elliott Video at 2019 VMAs

J Balvin stopped to chat with Billboard’s Jordyn Rolling on the red carpet at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday (Aug. 26), as they discussed his nominations, his performance with Bad Bunny, what he thinks of Rosalía’s success, and his favorite Missy Elliott music video of all time.

Asked how it felt to be nominated for so many VMA awards, J Balvin told Billboard that he was “super grateful” and called it a “beautiful moment for the Latino culture.”

“I’m happy to embrace it, happy to represent it,”  he continued. “Latino gang all the way!”

He also dished on his performance later that evening with Bad Bunny, calling it something “real crazy” and “really entertaining.” You can watch the very colorful and cartoonish performance of "Que Pretendes” below.

In the interview, J Balvin talked about Rosalía, as well. The pair previously collaborated together on “Con Altura” (which won the award for best Latin video later on in the night). “I’m so happy for her,” Balvin said of her success. “She really deserves everything that is going on with her. She’s amazing. Super talented, so she deserves the best.”

Finally, he was asked about his favorite Missy Elliott music video, in light of her receiving this year’s Vanguard Award. His response: “Get Ur Freak On.”
