Lizzo Takes Us to Church With 'Truth Hurts' & 'Good As Hell' Mashup at MTV VMAs 2019: Watch

If you're looking to bring the house down at an awards show, Lizzo is one to call.

The triple threat delivered a vibrant performance of her "Truth Hurts" and "Good As Hell" hits at the 2019 MTV VMAs on Monday night (Aug. 26). Introduced by friend (and possible future collaborator) Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo and her dancers sauntered onto the stage with Cuz I Love You highlight "Truth Hurts." With a huge booty prop bouncing to the beat behind her, Lizzo then signaled a song transition as she took over her unassuming beige trench coat to reveal a curve-hugging yellow swimsuit that matched her sunny eyeshadow.

She then jumped right into another fan favorite -- "Good As Hell” -- as the stage transformed into a vibrant cloud. Fellow artists like Queen Latifah and Diplo were seen dancing along to the high-energy performance while Lizzo made Megan Thee Stallion proud by driving the boat, or drinking a huge rhinestone-studded bottle of liquor, onstage. Lizzo quickly transformed into a church director, shouting confident phrases of encouragement like “We deserve to feel good as hell!” In the finale, she was embraced by her dancers who took of their wigs in rejoice.

"Truth Hurts" remains Lizzo's biggest hit to date, currently sitting at No. 4 on the Hot 100. Last Friday (Aug. 23), she dropped the official remix featuring DaBaby.
