Kelsea Ballerini brought some exciting edge to the 2019 CMT Music Awards stage on Wednesday night (June 5), thanks to her performance of "Miss Me More" -- one of the highlights from her 2017 sophomore album Unapologetically.

The singer began with a charming acoustic rendition, as the audience's flashing phones lit up the interior of Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. But soon, Ballerini put down her guitar so she could really rock out to a revved-up version of the single.

Backed by neon coral wings that would make Game of Thrones' dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen proud, she transformed into a mini-rockstar while belting out the empowering lyrics into her signature sparkly microphone. And just like any proper rocker, Ballerini ended the performance with a bevy of pyrotechnics and smoke.

Ahead of the awards ceremony, Ballerini hosted a brunch honoring women alongside Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild (who also served as tonight's hosts). “Miss Me More” is currently in the top 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, landing at No. 3.
