Kane Brown Talks Upcoming Marshmello Collaboration & Excitement Over Becoming a Father at BBMAs: Watch

Kane Brown caught up with Billboard’s Desire Thompson on the red carpet at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday (May 1), to chat about working with Marshmello, becoming a father, and being a fan of Mariah Carey.

Asked about his ability to jump between different musical genres, Brown tells Billboard that he is very grateful to be where he is in his career. “I feel like God’s given me a different path in the music genre and I’m just excited to be able to be able to do these things,” he says.

Brown also discusses his upcoming collaboration with Marshmello, revealing that it is basically the opposite of the song “Happier.”

“We wrote a tune that’s basically the opposite of that,” he explains. “It just…tells you everything that I’ve done wrong growing up and it’s saying that the one thing I did get right was you, talking about my wife.”

Speaking of his wife, Brown then opens up about his recent announcement that he and his wife are expecting a baby. Confessing that his baby fever is at "a hundred," he shares that he is very excited and that he wishes he could fast forward and have the baby here now.

In the video, Brown also discusses plans for a special gender reveal and his favorite Mariah Carey songs, in light of her receiving the icon award at the evening’s show. You can watch the full video above.
