Taylor Swift Accepts Tour of the Year at iHeartRadio Music Awards: Read The Full Speech
The superstar thanked her fans, and told them they'll be "the first to know" about new music.
Taylor Swift profusely thanked her fans - and gave them a wink about her upcoming music - while accepting the Tour of the Year award at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night (Mar. 14) from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
“I love your passion, I love your attention to detail, I love how much you care,” Swift told her fans while accepting the award for her Reputation Stadium Tour, which broke the record for the highest-grossing domestic tour by a woman in late 2018. The tour, in support of her 2017 album Reputation, grossed $266.1 million domestically and sold 2,068,399 tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore.
Swift also concluded her speech by slyly acknowledging the rumors of new music that have flooded social media over the past two weeks, while not offering any details on when those new tunes would be coming. “I just wanted to let you know,” she said, still addressing her fans, “that when there’s new music, you will be the first to know.”

"I think one of the most wonderful things about the way that this whole tour turned out is that for like the entire six months leading up to the first show of this tour, every headline that I read about the tour was, ‘This is going to be a massive failure. This is going to be a flop tour.’ And it really did wonders for my self-esteem. It was really great to hear people saying that I was gonna be playing to nearly empty stadiums.
"I’ve learned a lot, and one of the things I learned is that life is really unpredictable. And people can make forecasts and predictions, but those predictions and forecasts may not come true if there’s an unforeseeable factor involved, and that unforeseeable factor in this case was my fans. I honestly owe everything in my life to you.
"And I wanna thank you if you came out and saw the show in perfect weather, or if you came to one of our many rain shows that we had. And I also wanna say thank you if you just watched the show on Netflix! You guys are the reason why this tour, the only reason why this tour wasn’t a massive failure, and why it ended up being the highest-selling tour in U.S. history. That’s you.
"And I also just wanted to say before I go that I love your passion, I love your attention to detail, I love how much you care. I love seeing all the things that you’re voicing online, and I just wanted to let you know that when there’s new music, you will be the first to know."
