Mia Swier and Darren Criss arrive to the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sept. 17, 2018.

During his 2018 Emmy Awards acceptance speech for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Darren Criss described his fiancee, Mia Swier, as the type to "roll the windows down and turn the music up in my life."

While we know a lot about Criss, given his breakthrough role eight years ago on Glee, there is still a lot to learn about Swier. Here are five things to know about Criss' soon-to-be wife.

1. They've been dating for seven years.

After their engagement in January, Criss revealed on Instagram that the two have been dating for at least seven years before finally deciding to "kick those adventures up a notch."

2. She has worked for Fox, Showtime and ABC.

After graduating from NYU's Steinhardt School of Media Studies and Television Production, Swier has been a director, producer and writer of promotional content. She has worked for networks such as NBC, ABC, USA, Fox, Showtime and others. Also, she has produced and directed content for shows such as DexterShameless and even Glee.

In a 2013 interview with Kiss 92.5, Criss revealed that he met Swier before he became an actor and that he had never expected to be on TV.

3. She founded her own production company.

Swier, alongside her co-founder Dan Bricker, founded the film production company Effin Media in 2009. Under Effin, Swier self-directed and co-wrote the short mockumentary A (Not So) Civil Union, which closely followed one of the first legalized lesbian weddings.

4. She started a Guns N' Roses tribute band and plays the bass.

Aside from her talents in the entertainment industry, Swier is a rock and roll bassist and vocalist otherwise known as Mia Von Glitz. In 2012, she started an all-female GN'R tribute band cheekily called Guns N' Hoses with her friends Charlene Kaye, Erin Marsz, Emmy Wildwood and Gina Ilasi.

5. Swier and Criss own a piano bar in LA.

In April, the couple opened their first piano bar in Los Angeles called Tramp Stamp Grannys. In an Instagram post, Criss described it as the perfect place for "some pretty booze and tasty tunes." Swier later revealed that the bar's name is a tribute to her lively grandmother.
