Veteran film composer Alexandre Desplat took home best score at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday night (Jan. 7). It was the composer's second win in nine nominations at the awards, the first coming for The Painted Veil in 2007.
"Merci beaucoup," Desplat begun his acceptance speech, going on to give special shoutout to Water director Guillermo Del Toro. "Your movie has moved me so much, inspired me so much," the composer gushed, before thanking Del Toro for "all the dinners we had in Paris, and many more to come."
