On Wednesday (Aug. 3) morning, Fall Out Boy announced that out of "an abundance of caution" they will miss the New York and Boston tour dates on their Hella Mega run with Weezer and Green Day due to a positive COVID-19 test from "an individual on the band's team."
"It's important to note that everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated," reads Fall Out Boy's statement on Instagram. "Each band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows." The statement also notes the Hella Mega tour has a full-time COVID safety protocol officer on staff.
The Hella Mega Tour hits New York City's Citi Field on Aug. 4 and Boston's Fenway Park on Aug. 5. Green Day and Weezer are still slated to perform, along with opening act The Interrupters.
