Selena: The Series about the late singer Selena Quintanilla released its second season on Netflix Tuesday (May 4), and it features a depiction of her very real run-in with another world-famous pop star: Beyoncé.
The sixth episode, titled "Lo más bello" (which translates from Spanish to "the most beautiful"), features a scene in which a young Beyoncé, her sister Solange and their mother Tina are leaving The Galleria mall in Houston, Texas. A very starstruck Beyoncé spots Selena with her sister Suzette and mother Marcella, and works up the courage to say hello to her. "Beyoncé Knowles, you better learn not to be afraid of people if you ever wanna be famous, too," the actress portraying Tina tells her.
We all know how that story has been playing out, but little do people know that Queen Bey's encounter with the "Queen of Tejano music" actually happened. In an old interview with MTV Tr3s, the Texas-bred superstar talked about what it was like to run into the superstar from the Lone Star State.
