Jay-Z to Join U2 on Tour in Australia

A source at Live Nation has confirmed that U2 will head to Australia and New Zealand as part of its recently resumed 360 tour, with Jay-Z announced as a special guest.

The trek will kick off at Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium on Nov. 25 and make stops in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney before wrapping up at Perth's Subiaco Oval -- marking the first time U2 has played in Perth since 1998.

As previously reported, tickets will be priced at $39.90 and almost 45% of the tickets will be priced under $100. Tickets to all concerts will go on sale Sept. 3.

Jay-Z was recently named hip-hop's top earner for 2009-2010 by Forbes Magazine with $63 million, while U2 became the top earning tour band, with its 2009 world tour earning $300 million. U2's 360 tour is also on pace to become the top-grossing tour in history, besting the Rolling Stones' Bigger Bang tour, which grossed $558 million in 2005-2007, according to Billboard Boxscore.
