He might be only 17, but The Kid LAROI is growing-up fast as an international chart-breaker.

Born and raised in Sydney, now based in Los Angeles, LAROI made history in February as the youngest Australian solo artist to rule the ARIA Albums Chart (at 17 years, 5 months and 22 days), with F*ck Love (Savage), a deluxe edition of his 2020 F*ck Love mixtape.

In the U.S., F*ck Love (Savage) peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

The highs keep coming with LAROI named as MTV’s featured Global artist for the month of April and the songwriter, rapper, singer and producer is shortlisted for breakthrough songwriter of the year at the APRA Music Awards, to be held Wednesday (April 28) in Sydney. It’s LAROI’s first APRA Award nomination and he’s the youngest nominee in 2021.

Last Saturday night (April 24), for the second annual edition of Music From the Home Front, LAROI enjoyed the spotlight with a performance of his breakthrough hit “Without You.” The music extravaganza was spearheaded by the late Mushroom Group founder and chairman Michael Gudinski, and also featured performances from Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes, Tash Sultana, Tina Arena and many others.

LAROI kept his shades on throughout his stripped-down performance. With a future so bright, he’s gotta wear them.
