Kanye West Talks 'Runaway' Film at Fashion Week

During Rodarte's Spring 2011 show at Fashion Week yesterday (Sept. 14), Kanye West revealed new details about the mysterious film project he worked on earlier this month in Prague to NY Mag. Entitled "Runaway," the 40-minute noir film will tie in to his upcoming fifth album.

West said that the plot of the film, which he is currently "color-correcting," revolves around a phoenix fallen to Earth that people discriminate against after the rapper makes her his girlfriend. "I've been feeling the idea of the phoenix… It's maybe parallel to my career," said West. "I threw a Molotov cocktail on my career last year, in a way, and I had to come back as a better person."

While there is no premiere date set for the film, West's forthcoming album, "Dark Twisted Fantasy," is currently slated to arrive Nov. 16. The rapper debuted a new song, also titled "Runaway," at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
