Adam Lambert Accused of Battery in Miami

The real mad hatter, Adam Lambert hits the Nokia Theatre stage in LA on Jun. 22.

Adam Lambert allegedly got a little too frisky with the paparazzi in Miami yesterday (Sept. 16).

According to a report by TMZ, a Miami paparazzo filed a claim with police yesterday that accused the "American Idol" season 8 runner-up of misdemeanor battery. The police report obtained by TMZ says that Lambert allegedly grabbed the photographer's book bag, where the camera was located, and "forcefully" wrestled the man to the ground.

However, pictures of the incident show that the camera was in the paparazzo's hand while Lambert is digging into his bag.

The State Attorney's office will review the police report and make a decision regarding charges. If charged and found guilty, the "For Your Entertainment" singer could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Lambert has been vocal about the incident via Twitter. He Tweeted shortly after the clash that he lost his temper but posted this message earlier today, (Sept. 17): "Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground.... It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime -- that's all I'm guilty of."
