Brandi Carlile is opening up about her life and career in her memoir Broken Horses, which released this week.

The description calls the book an “evocative and piercingly honest” journey through the life that has shaped her “very raw art.” The story will touch on her start at a local singing competition to her first break opening for Dave Matthews Band, embracing her sexuality as a teenager and growing up to raise two children with her wife, Catherine Shepherd.
