Halsey Reveals She's Pregnant and Shows Off Her Baby Bump: 'Surprise!'

Halsey has some big news to share in the new year: She's pregnant!

The "You Should Be Sad" singer is hardly feeling down. She revealed her burgeoning baby bump in a mini photo gallery on Instagram Wednesday (Jan. 27) with the simple caption, "surprise!" followed by three emojis: a baby bottle, rainbow and infant angel.

The first photo shows her in a rainbow bikini top with her jeans unbuttoned -- belly on full display -- as she smiles against a white backdrop. She's standing in the second snap, this time without the bikini top, her right arm covering her chest as she poses from the side to share the baby bump. In the final photo, Haley is kneeling, with the sun shining on her.

The rainbow top and emoji may be subtle reminder of her previous pregnancy loss, with the expected child being a "rainbow baby." The 26-year-old opened up about her miscarriage in a 2018 interview on The Doctors, revealing that she suffered the loss while on stage, before she had even fully processed that she was expecting. Halsey also shared that she suffers from a condition called endometriosis -- which can cause infertility -- and that she underwent surgery for it in 2017. The artist also shared at the time that she had decided to freeze her eggs.

"I need to be aggressive about protecting my fertility, about protecting myself," she said at the time.

Halsey did not specifically state who the father is, but tagged screenwriter and producer Alev Aydin in the first photo. Not long after, Aydin commented on the announcement: "Heart so full, I love you, sweetness." She responded, "I love you!!!!!! And I love this mini human already." The producer also shared her announcement to his Instagram Stories, along with two heart emojis.
