Alex Rodriguez is incredibly proud of fiancee Jennifer Lopez. The former baseball superstar spent Sunday morning (Jan. 24) reflecting on the singer's performance at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' Jan. 20 inauguration, and its significance.

"I can't stop thinking about Wednesday and Jen's performance at #Inauguration2021," he tweeted alongside of a photo of the couple on a private jet on their way home from the historic event. "It was such an iconic moment -- one I'll never forget. I can't express how proud I am of her and how privileged I felt just to be in attendance. It truly was awe-inspiring and so patriotic."

"On the flight home, she showed me her lyrics sheet, and the significance of her performance really began to sink in," he continued. "Can you believe she was the first person to sing in Spanish at an inaugural event?"

Concluded the Major League Baseball analyst: "Another historic and groundbreaking achievement for one of the most talented and driven people the world has ever seen. #Proud #Macha"

For her performance at the swearing-in ceremony, the superstar offered up a medley. J. Lo began with Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," transitioned into "America the Beautiful," then said in Spanish, "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all." Lopez also worked in some of her 2000 hit "Let's Get Loud," before finishing with a few more notes from "America the Beautiful."

The couple, who got engaged in March 2019, had planned to marry last June, but postponed the wedding due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
