Singer-songwriter Andra Day took to the roof of the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles to deliver an inspiring performance of “Rise Up” during the inauguration parade for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday (Jan. 20).

As Day sang her Grammy-nominated 2015 hit, 9-year-old Kaitlyn Saunders performed a skating routine at Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, D.C.

Ahead of the inauguration performance, Day shared how excited she was to be invited to the virtual parade. "In my opinion, [this is] a moment for healing,” she told Good Morning America on Tuesday (Jan. 19). “It's time and it’s long overdue for America. I’m honored to be a part of this.”

The Parade Across America, hosted by Tony Goldwyn, also includes appearances from Jon Stewart, figure skaters, Olympians, Doggface208 (aka the viral "Dreams" skateboarder), the reunited New Radicals and Earth Wind & Fire.
