Riley Keough is opening up about her first Christmas without late brother Benjamin, who died by suicide in July at age 27.

On Friday (Dec. 18), the 31-year-old actress took to Instagram to express her ongoing grief with the loss of Benjamin, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson of the late Elvis Presley.

"Its going to be my first Christmas without my best friend and baby brother. Words can’t describe how painful it is," she wrote alongside a photo with her brother.

Riley and Benjamin share a father in musician Danny Keough. Lisa Marie and Danny divorced in 1994.

The actress continued, "I’m thinking of everyone whose [sic] lost someone they love and everyone else whose first Holiday it is with grief and without the person they love. And I’m also thinking of all of the beautiful people who can’t be here with us in physical form and sending them my love wherever they may be, not too far away."

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office ruled on July 14 that Benjamin's official cause of death was a shotgun wound and the manner of death was ruled suicide. In October, he was laid to rest in Meditation Garden at Graceland, Elvis Presley's former residence.

Lisa Marie's rep told The Hollywood Reporter at the time, "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."
