Kanye West 'Christmas in Harlem' Track Hits Web
Back in August, Kanye West announced that he would release a new song "every week until Xmas" as part of his "G.O.O.D. Fridays" series. Although the rapper hadn't issued any new tracks since the Nov. 22 release of "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," a new song, "Christmas in Harlem," has hit the web just in time for the holidays.
At over 5 minutes, "Christmas in Harlem" finds West and "So Appalled" rapper CyHi Da Prince rhyming over a gentle piano melody and maintaining a playful mood while toasting the Christmas spirit. "I like the way you think, mommy/Now pour some more eggnog in your drink, mommy/Got a surprise for you, it ain't on your Christmas list/Gave her the hot chocolate, she said it's deericious," Kanye raps, before Teyana Taylor sings the song's gentle hook.
As for the song's title, "Harlem" looks like it's a reference to New York rap crew Dipset, who could be adding a few verses to a forthcoming version of the song. "Just got Dipset verses for Christmas in Harlem!" West wrote on Twitter today, his first post in two weeks. "Eeeeevrybody on it!!!! Cam, Vado, Jimmy, Pusha, Big Sean, Cyhi, Teyana Taylor & Musiq."
