The star has repurposed his 'Hamilton' hit into a 2020 anthem about waiting for final results until every ballot is counted.

Leslie Odom Jr. is prepping voters to be ready to "Wait for It."

The Tony-winning star of Hamilton has repurposed his breakout song from the hit musical into an election anthem, urging the importance of counting every ballot rather than rushing to declare a winner on election night.

“In this historic election, millions of you have mailed your ballots or dropped them off, and all of us deserve to be counted," says Odom Jr. in a PSA for nonpartisan anti-corruption group RepresentUs. "These are votes from our grandparents staying safe from COVID, our overseas military sending in their ballots by mail; our neighbors, our friends, nurses, teachers, firefighters. This is actually simple: voting is one of our fundamental rights and counting votes is the foundation of democracy."

Appearing among everyday Americans and frontline workers, along with cameos from Amy Schumer, Ed Helms and Alysia Reiner, Odom Jr. adds,"It may take time, but your vote is worth waiting for. And I’m willing to wait for it.”

The message follows President Trump's repeated insistence that the final results of the presidential contest must be decided on Tuesday, amid historic numbers of mail-in ballots and varying state laws about when votes will be counted.

“Our Founding Fathers led a revolution to secure our right to vote, and many Americans are still fighting it," says RepresentUS president Joshua Graham Lynn. "Our votes are sacred, and counting our votes is solemn. This year, Americans across the political spectrum need to be ready to ‘Wait For It."
