Cam Drops 'The Otherside,' Featuring Songs With Harry Styles, Tim Bergling and More: Listen

Dennis Leupold

Cam has seen the other side, she’s back and she’s made changes.

Several years after she found herself in the musical wilderness, the Grammy Award-nominated artist returns with The Otherside, her long awaited sophomore album and her first via Nashville-based Triple Tigers and RCA Records.

It’s a lush collection of classic country grandeur and expert pop songcraft, spread across 11 songs.

An outspoken songwriter, Cam opens the door for the first time for songwriting from other artists she admires.

Harry Styles co-wrote album track "Changes," Sam Smith co-wrote "Happier for You" and the late EDM producer and Tim Bergling (aka Avicii) co-wrote the title track, “The Otherside.”

The LP also includes the previously released single "Classic," co-written and produced with Jack Antonoff; "Redwood Tree," "Diane," and "Till There's Nothing Left," which she performed live on America's Got Talent.

On working with Bergling, Cam told Billboard: “He didn’t feel the need to make everyone else in the room comfortable, which happens a lot in sessions. It was a tall order to make sure this song lived well on this album [and honored] him and his work.”

Cam was nominated for the best country solo performance Grammy Award in 2015 for "Burning House," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
