Cardi, who just celebrated her 28th birthday with a big Las Vegas bash, then said that she tried to stop the picture from posting to Instagram by turning off her phone. She had Offset check on his phone to see if it worked, only to have her husband -- from whom she filed for divorce in September -- confirm that her topless photo, which shows her lying on a couch, had indeed gone public.
The "WAP" rapper added, "By the time I turned my phone on and deleted this s--t, everybody and they mom saw my big a-- [breasts]. ... [It] was all over the internet."
She went on to say that she was angry about the mistake for about half an hour. "Then again, I'm like, 'Whatever,'" Cardi admitted. "When I started hosting, I used to show my boobs all the time because I was a stripper. Like ... everybody saw [them]."
Prior to sharing in detail how the mistake happened, Cardi shared her frustration and embarrassment on Twitter. "Lord why the f--k you have to make me so f--king stupid and retarded? Why? Why? Why? Why?" she muttered in a voice memo before adding that she's "not going to beat myself up about it."
Though some might think it odd that the artist might be sharing a topless photo with Offset, the pair have been friendly and even partied together for her birthday, where the two were spotted kissing. In Instagram Stories shared by attendees and the Migos rapper himself, Cardi B could be seen dancing it up at the afterparty, with Offset even putting his hand on her behind as she twerked for him. In other Stories, the birthday girl could be seen jumping on Offset, who was lying down, and giving him a sexy dance.
Billboard has reached out to Cardi B and Offset's reps for comment. Their divorce case is still open.
