During quarantine, Anderson .Paak kept entertaining by dancing on Instagram with his adorable son Soul, but their moves to a song called "Jewelz" had fans begging it to get officially released.

Thankfully, the funky fresh "Jewelz" finally arrived on Tuesday (Oct. 6), and the star chatted with Zane Lowe on Apple Music about working with Timbaland on the track.

"I love Timbaland because obviously, he's huge influence for me coming up," Anderson explained. "When I was making music, it was a handful of super producers that was around that you wanted to be like. Timbaland, Neptune's, Dre, Kanye, just play a song on and so forth, but it's really dope to see someone like Timbaland that comes out of that era and that can still get the keyboard and mash out a beat right there on the spot. You know what I'm saying? A lot of dudes can't do that no more."

As for "Jewelz" in particular, Anderson recalled the "amazing" experience of how the track came to be. "Timbaland came through, he had a bunch of ideas, he brought his son through and before we even got in the session, we was just chopping it up, having conversations and I think that's how pretty much the song had came about," he shared. "With 'I ain't even put my jewels on,' we were talking, me, him and his son about something, and I think his son had said it. Like, 'We didn't even start it yet or I ain't get my s--- out yet.' And I was like, 'Yo, that's it. I ain't even put my jewels on yet. We didn't even start yet. We just warming up.' You know what I'm saying? And Timbaland got in there."

The star also gushed over the fans' reactions to hearing the song on Instagram. "It was within quarantine. Me clowning around with my son, you know what I'm saying?" he shared. "Vibing out, we're making dances on the spot, making skits. And I threw one of those ... So, I was like, 'You know what? Let me check the temperature of this song. I'm going to see if this might be a good way to test it.' And we had just did it with Timbaland and then we did a little skit with it and I'm seeing people go crazy. Like, 'What's this? Drop it. Drop it.' And I was like, 'All right. Yeah. If it gets a million views on the thing, I'll drop it.' And then it f---ed around and got a million views. Then I was like, 'Oh, s---.'"

"Now I got to talk to Dre," he continued. "Dre is like, 'Man, I thought we was working on the album, this and that.' I'm like, 'Yeah, but we kind of have to drop this right now because I dropped the Instagram clip.' He's like, 'What the hell you talking about, bro?'"
