"We believe this concept is fun for the whole family, especially given the number of children we both have," said LL Cool J and O'Donnell. "We reminisced about our kids' dance lessons and how it would look if they had to teach us how to dance. What we noticed was, aside from the two-left-feet element, like most parents, no one wants to let their kids down. The show is about being creative, having a good time and bringing families together through dance. It's a fun show with a big heart."
Added executive producer Reinout Oerlemans, "It's inspiring to see the positive connection that exists between adults and children play out through dance. Shepherding this show has been a labor of love, and the fact that it comes to CBS at a time when families are hungry for fun, uplifting entertainment is especially gratifying."
Come Dance With Me further expands the roster of unscripted shows at CBS. The network will rely heavily on unscripted and news programming in the first part of fall to keep the lights on, as some scripted series are just returning to production and likely won't be back on air before November.
The current seasons of Big Brother and Love Island will extend into fall and will be joined by previously shot seasons of Undercover Boss and The Amazing Race, along with The Greatest #AtHome Videos and additional CBS News programming. The network will also air episodes of Pop TV's One Day at a Time, CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery and Spectrum Originals' Manhunt: Deadly Games in the early part of fall.
Along with LL Cool J and O'Donnell, executive producers for Come Dance With Me are 3 Ball's Oerlemans, Ross Weintraub and Jeff Altrock.
