Republic Records Is First Label to Partner With Grammy Museum on New Spotlight Saturdays Series

Republic Records is the first label to partner with the Grammy Museum on Spotlight Saturdays, a new program series featuring up-and-coming artists. Republic is using the platform to spotlight Kiana Ledé (Aug. 1), BENEE (Aug. 8), Conan Gray (Aug. 15), DUCKWRTH (Aug. 22) and Jeremy Zucker (Aug. 29).

The labels will not pay to be included in this program, nor will they be paid for participating, according to a Grammy Museum spokesperson.

Spotlight Saturdays is part of the museum's public programs digital series, which features intimate, sit-down interviews and performances via digital conferencing. The interviews will be conducted by Scott Goldman, moderator of the Grammy Museum's public programs.

The idea for Spotlight Saturdays came from the Grammy Museum's public programs and content team, specifically  Rosalie Sanchez, public programs manager. Sanchez will serve as project lead in charge of lining up the labels and offering input on which artists the labels choose to spotlight. The plan is for a different label to take over each month.

All of Republic Records' five new and developing artists who will kick off Spotlight Saturdays have had a taste of chart success.

BENEE’s “Supalonely” (featuring Gus Dapperton) has been a fixture on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks. It has climbed as high as No. 39. The single reached No. 2 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart in BENEE’s home country. The song is featured on BENEE’s EP Stella & Steve, which reached No. 138 on the Billboard 200.

The other artists have also made the Billboard 200 with album projects. DUCKWRTH had a track on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack, which reached No. 2. He teamed with Shaboozey on the track "Start a Riot.”

Gray’s debut album, Kid Krow, debuted and peaked at No. 5. Ledé’s KIKI climbed as high as No. 30. Zucker’s Love Is Not Dying reached No. 57.
