Watch Ziggy Marley Break Down the Basics of Guitar For First Edition of 'Billboard Kids'

Billboard unveiled its very first "Billboard Kids" segment on Thursday (May 14) with a little help from none other than Ziggy Marley.

In the clip, the Jamaican reggae artist gives kids a crash course in playing his instrument of choice: the guitar. "Guitar's a sweet instrument, you can carry it anywhere," he says during the demonstration. "And you can play it anywhere also, so I like playing guitar."

Marley then runs kids watching at home through the basics of Guitar 101, starting with the number of strings and their corresponding notes ("You count the strings from the bottom up...and they're E, B, G, D, A and E."). From there, the artist cheerfully breaks down the purpose of a guitar's frets, and teaching kids how to play a basic C chord, which also happens to be the first chord he learned after picking up the instrument as a youngster himself.

"You can make a song with one chord, did you know that?" Marley asks while strumming the C chord over and over. "One chord can make a song, so you can start with that chord ... So that's how you should start learning to play guitar!"
