Alessia Cara performs "October" on 'The Tonight Show: At Home Edition'

Alessia Cara Zoomed it in for a virtual chat with Jimmy Fallon from the place where her career kicked off: her bedroom.

The Canadian singer and songwriter made a name for herself as a 13-year-old posting covers to YouTube from home. Ten years later, she’s still there but things have definitely moved on.

For the latest "At home" edition of The Tonight Show, Cara performed “October,” the closing track from her 2019 EP This Summer.

Earlier, Cara showed off her ventriloquist dummy Sonny (a gift from a radio station, apparently) and talked The Willoughbys, the popular animated series in which she voices the character Jane.

Cara also shared some insights into her music-making process. She records voice memos into her phone at any time of the day, and her device is stuffed with “thousands” of cuts.

The Tonight Show host and his guest also played a round of “One Word Songs,” a game where they hit a popular one word song and sing it with a random word, like switching out Post Malone's "Circles" with “Sweatpants” and flipping Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” with “Waffles.”

“It’s actually harder than it looks,” Cara admits.
