Tones and I

She’s stuck at home in Australia, quarantined like the rest of us. But that’s no barrier for Tones And I.

The former busker has a busy weekend coming up, but first, she dialed in to The Tonight Show for a very special rendition of “Bad Child,” her latest single.

Tones (real name Toni Watson) gave a masterful performance of the new song, her first before an audience of any description.

Recording from her bedroom, Tones remarked, “I hope you’re all safe over there, and staying isolated and hopefully keeping your mind active.”

The last time Tones performed on The Tonight Show was back in November 2019, when she smashed her hit “Dance Monkey” before a real-life studio audience.

"Dance Monkey" reached No. 1 in over 30 countries, including record-setting stints in the U.K. and Australia, where it set the all-time mark at 24 weeks. In less than a year, the single has notched more than seven billion streams across all streaming platforms, and surpassed more than 1.4 billion streams on Spotify alone.

It's now the most-streamed song by a female on the digital music platform, and No. 8 on the all-time list.

In the days ahead, Tones will perform at Warner Music’s virtual PlayOn Fest and at Music From The Home Front, featuring an all-star Australasian lineup.
