The Stones are arguably the greatest rock band on the planet. A touring juggernaut, Jagger and Co. have sold hundreds of millions of albums, bagged nine No. 1 Billboard 200 albums and eight No. 1 Hot 100 songs and came in at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 125 Artists of All Time, behind only the Beatles.
Like everyone else, the current health crisis has derailed the Stones' year. The band announced last month that the 15-date No Filter Tour, due to kick off May 8 in San Diego, was postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The British Hall of Famers slot into a One World lineup that already includes Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Lopez, LL Cool J, Matthew McConaughey, Oprah Winfrey, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, Usher and many more.
“We want to raise the money before we go on air,” Gaga explained during an at-home live stream last week. “When we do go on air, put your wallets away, your credit cards away, and enjoy the show.”
One World: Together at Home airs Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, NBC, ViacomCBS Networks, iHeartMedia and Bell Media networks and will stream on Alibaba, Amazon Prime Video, Apple, beIN Media Group, Facebook, Instagram, LiveXLive, Tencent, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, TIDAL, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo and YouTube.
