Blake Shelton had a difficult decision as the Knockouts kicked off Monday night on NBC's The Voice.

Team Blake’s Levi Watkins and Joei Fulco were the first to strut their stuff. And they certainly impressed, with Watkins opening with a cover of Waylon Jennings' "I Ain't Living Long Like This.”

“I like Levi,” John Legend told Blake at the end of the performance.

He also liked Joei Fulco, who hit an impressive country-rock rendition of Linda Ronstadt's "When Will I Be Loved."

“You both just gave perfect performance,” Legend said afterwards. “You did exactly what you’re supposed to do. You sang the notes with power and precision.” He struggled to pick a winner, though he admitted there’s “something about Levi.”

Nick Jonas had fun with the routines, and noted Levi’s choice came from leftfield. “A 14-year-old singing Waylon Jennings? That just happened,” Clarkson remarked. And everyone took turns poking fun at their coach.

Jonas went with Joei. Clarkson went with Levi.

Shelton struggled to choose a winner from these two, very capable artists. “I hate this show right now,” he remarked, as he selected Joei to stay in the competition.
