Billie Joe Armstrong performs "I Think We're Alone Now" on 'Tonight Show: At Home Edition.'

Billie Joe Armstrong logged in for a virtual chat Monday night with The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon, and for a performance of a song high on everyone’s self-isolation list.

The Green Day frontman performed a rocking version of “I Think We're Alone Now,” originally recorded in the ‘60s by Tommy James and the Shondells and turned into a mega-hit once more in the ‘80s by Tiffany.

“I think we’re alone now. There doesn’t seem to be anyone around,” are lyrics perfect for our time. Armtrong has been giving the song a workout, sharing a version last month on YouTube.

Green Day should be on tour right now, but the COVID-19 crisis has put everything on hold. Not The Tonight Show, however. Fallon is airing an “At Home” edition of the late night show during the coronavirus emergency.
