Back when Tiger King star Joe Exotic ran for Oklahoma governor in 2018, he wanted Marilyn Manson's endorsement. Yup, you read that right.

The news doesn't really surprise us, since asking for an endorsement is way tame in comparison to the events that go down in the popular Netflix docuseries--but it's still funny given that Manson isn't even from Oklahoma.

The singer took to Instagram to share a DM that Exotic sent him two years ago. "Hey. Thanks for the follow," it reads, before going on in a very Joe Exotic-esque manner. "I'm running for Governor of Oklahoma and trying to speak for the real people for a change and get some people help with addiction in this State that no one cares about."

"Would you endorse me? Not asking for money. Just to use your name as an endorsement," he concluded. If you've seen Tiger King, you know that (spoiler alert) Exotic didn't end up becoming governor of Oklahoma, but we respect his idea of getting celebrities on board.

Manson, however, was not down. "Nope. Don’t F--- With Cats," he wrote in the caption. See it below.
