The 2020 festival was slated to take place between May 15-17 on the beaches of the Gulf Shore in Alabama.

AEG's beachside festival Hangout Fest has announced that it will not be able to proceed with the May 15-17 event due to concerns over the coronavirus. The three-day event took to social media today to announce that they are looking into possible dates for rescheduling.

"This morning we received notice from the City of Gulf Shores that Hangout 2020 cannot proceed in May due to COVID-19," the post reads. "After our fastest sellout ever, and what was shaping up to be a banner year on the beach, we are gutted that this is the outcome for all of you, but agree that this is the right decision for the health and safety of everyone involved."

The 2020 edition of Hangout Fest was scheduled to feature performances from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey and many more. The festival has assured ticketholders that they will be refunded and that information on how to obtain that will be available soon.

"We kindly ask for your patience as we explore all options for a rescheduled festival," the post continues. "Given the rapidly changing landscape of the pandemic, we want to make sure we make the right call and need a little more time. Please know that as we vet all options, your enjoyment and your safety will be our two guiding priorities."
