A member of Ocean Grove has tested positive for COVID-19, just days after the Australian metalcore act completed a multi-city run of meet-and-greets.

Confirming the positive test result, the rockers’ label UNFD says the as-yet-unidentified artist is in “good spirits” and receiving treatment, and urged anyone who came in contact with the band to self-isolate for two weeks.

“After what was first interpreted as a common headache, he began experiencing other symptoms associated with the virus on Monday, March 16 upon which he was tested,” reads a statement issued Thursday.

The band just completed a promotional tour of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in support of their sophomore album Flip Phone Fantasy, which dropped last Friday (March 13).

Reaching out to the band’s fans, the UNIFIED statement continues, “In the event you start to experience symptoms associated with COVID-19, please seek medical attention.”

Reps at the independent music company ask that fans “please keep the Ocean Grove guys (and others affected) in your hearts and minds during this time.”

The Melbourne four piece, comprising Dale Tanner (vocals), Twiggy Hunter (bass), Matt Henley (guitar) and Sam Bassal (drums), released their debut LP The Rhapsody Tapes in 2017, opening at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

They completed a national tour with The Amity Affliction in January, and a jaunt across the U.K. and Europe in February and March with Crossfaith, wrapping up March 7 at the Riverstage in Newcastle, north England.
