YouTube Originals announced on Wednesday (March 11) that Lewis Capaldi will front a brand-new series called Birthday Song.

In a trailer released with the announcement, Capaldi discovers that the No. 1 song on the day he was born, Oct. 7 1996, was "Setting Sun" by the Chemical Brothers featuring Noel Gallagher.

He then sets out to craft his own version of the tune, and the show will follow Capaldi’s journey from the initial discovery of the song, researching, recording and ultimately showcasing the final cover at a performance. The scene is weaved with getting to know the "Someone You Loved" star, and how he found his passion for music.

“YouTube was a huge part of where it all started for me, was absolutely class to get to be asked to record a version of ’Setting Sun’ by The Chemical Brothers for my Birthday Song," Capaldi said in a statement. "I hope everyone doesn’t absolutely hate my version and if you do please don’t tell me in the comments, my mum reads them.”

Birthday Song launches on Capaldi's YouTube channel on March 24. See the trailer below.
